RETTOCAMME at the Jonathan Shorr Gallery
FOUR SATURDAYS IN AUGUST
RETTOCAMME finishes their four week series of dance installations at the Jonathan Shorr Gallery with three performances of Emma Cotter's "Window Looming" on Saturday, August 25th.
Each installation is composed of carefully crafted movement phrases, structured improvisations, hand-made props and found objects. The windows of the duplex gallery frame the enclosed dancers and the fading twilight provides an ever-changing lighting scheme. Concepts are enhanced by the hair and make-up designs of Amanda Miller. The dancers, a collection of seasoned performers, are restricted to tiny spaces and forced to continually reinvent their relationships to the space, feeding off the energy and spontaneity of the surrounding scene. An eclectic group of onlookers, many who stay for hours, add to the texture of the evening. Between performances, audience members linger to mingle with the dancers and the gallery

Just 'cause the big day has passed doesn't mean it's over. Follow up conversations keep the rumor mill spinning. Got stories to tell, photos to share?
